Bi Focal Lenses

Traditional Segmented Lens Designs for Clear, Separated Vision Zones

Imprint Bifocals provide a classic, reliable solution for presbyopic patients who prefer clearly divided vision zones — one for distance and one for near. These lenses are ideal for customers who have difficulty adapting to varifocals or simply prefer the clarity and stability that comes from defined segments.

Non-freeform by design, Imprint Bifocals are a cost-effective and familiar option, especially suited to long-time bifocal users and budget-conscious patients seeking comfort and function.

Benefits for the Wearer

  • Clear distance: Near vision with no blending zone. No peripheral distortion or adaptation period like varifocals.

  • Familiar feel: For experienced bifocal users. Trusted, traditional layout with consistent performance.

  • Budget-friendly: Highly functional. Great for older patients or those looking for simplicity and clarity.

Fitting & Ordering Guidance

  • Pupil Distances and Frame Measurements: Optional but recommended for better accuracy

  • Freeform Measurements (BVD, Panto, Wrap): Not used

  • Lens Design: Traditional (non-freeform)

D-Segment

Also known as a flat-top bifocal, features a wide rectangular reading segment positioned at the bottom of the lens. Its flat-top design offers a broad near-vision area with a sharp, easy transition from distance to reading. This is the most commonly dispensed bifocal due to its balance of comfort, practicality, and wide reading zone.

C-Segment

Similar in size to the D-segment but features a curved upper edge for a softer visual transition. This subtle curve offers a more blended aesthetic while maintaining a defined reading segment. It’s a comfortable choice for patients who prefer a less angular appearance without compromising function.

R-Segment

R-Segment bifocals use a round reading segment positioned in the lower part of the lens. With a more compact design, they provide a discreet appearance and are ideal for wearers seeking a more subtle bifocal layout. They offer targeted near correction with minimal visual disruption across the lens.

Executive Bifocal

Executive bifocals feature a full-width reading segment that spans the entire bottom half of the lens. Designed for maximum near-vision area, they are ideal for patients who require extensive close-up work. The distance and near zones are clearly separated across the lens, making this style a practical option for users who want a strong division between tasks.
