Optimize is the result of three friends and former colleagues - Akif, Fiona, and Taz returning to the industry they love. After building WLC Lenses into one of the UK’s most trusted optical suppliers before its acquisition by Essilor in 2009 they knew they had more to give.
Akif Rafiq, one of the founders of WLC, Fiona, former Head of Customer Service, and Taz, former Head of Accounts, worked side by side for years, sharing a commitment to quality, service, and innovation. After some time away, they missed the pace, the people, and the purpose of the optical world. So, they decided to do it all again with fresh energy and a clear mission.
Together, they bring over 80 years of combined experience in lens manufacturing, dispensing, glazing, and customer care. That foundation is strengthened by our Professional Services Team made up of qualified ophthalmic and dispensing opticians whose clinical and technical expertise helps deliver the best products and guidance to our customers.
